Agrihouse Foundation, in collaboration with the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council, hosted its maiden edition of the Ghana Agrochemicals and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards on Thursday, April 18th to Friday, April 19th, 2024, in Techiman.
Held under the theme “Recognizing Efficiency and Innovation to Drive Sustainable Bumper Harvest,” the two-day event educated farmers on the proper utilization of agrochemicals and crop protection techniques to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in the region and across Ghana.
Addressing the gathering, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, highlighted the event’s significance: “Our primary focus lies in bridging the significant gap as we prepare for the pre-planting season.
The Ghana Agrochemicals and Crop Protection Exhibition serves as a crucial one-stop platform for farmers and input dealers alike.It provides a pivotal space for farmers to engage, access input dissemination, and foster dialogue on enhancing their farming practices and the agricultural sector at large. This platform not only facilitates market expansion but also creates opportunities for farmers and input dealers to collaborate towards mutual growth and sustainability.”she added
In addition to the exhibitions, the event featured an awards ceremony recognizing farmers and agrochemical dealers who have played pivotal roles in advocating responsible agrochemical usage and sustainable farming practices in the Bono East Region.
The awardees included Agromonti Company Limited, who took home the Most Innovative Input Dealer Company award, Yara Ghana Limited was awarded the Leading Crop Nutrition Brand in Ghana, and Tibourataa Women Group from the Northern Region won the Most Promising Input Dealer Company Award.
The Executive Director, further disclosed Agrihouse Foundation’s commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, with numerous interventions tailored for farmers nationwide.
Looking ahead, Akosa hinted at future collaborations and initiatives stemming from the event, aiming to foster continuous improvement and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Agrihouse Foundation, will today Thursday 18th April 2024 to Saturday 20th April 2024 host the 1st Ghana Agrochemical & Crop Protection Exhibitions & Awards (GACA) at the Bonokyempem hall in Techiman in the Bono -East Region ,aimed at addressing pre-planting challenges and promoting sustainable agriculture in Ghana .
The Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards initiative serves as a strategic intervention project to bolster crop production by connecting farmers with input dealers, agribusinesses, aggregators, buyers, policymakers, out growers, civil society, equipment and machinery companies, processors, research institutions, financial institutions, development partners, and others.
The initiative also seeks to Promote sustainable crop production and increase harvests by educating farmers and encouraging the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices, Ensure the comprehensive availability of essential resources for all participants in the agricultural value chain, Recognize and reward outstanding contributors within the agro-input industry who play a vital role in agricultural development and also Provide input dealers and service providers with an opportunity to engage with farmers during the pre-planting season and showcase their products and services.

The Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards is an initiative focused on creating a comprehensive platform for trade, connectivity, and cooperation in the agriculture sector, integrating pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, irrigation, plant protection equipment, and logistics.
Organized by Agrihouse Foundation, the Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Production Exhibition and Award aims to promote efficiency and innovation for sustainable bumper harvests.
To be held under the theme “Recognizing Efficiency and Innovation to Drive Sustainable Bumper Harvest: The Role of Agricultural Input Dealers.” the event will provide a platform for networking among stakeholders, including organizations, seed companies, fertilizers, farmers, agribusinesses, and individuals, to discuss and promote proven agricultural innovations and technologies.
The maiden edition of the Ghana Agrochemical and Crop Protection Exhibitions and Awards promises insightful discussions, exhibitions, and networking opportunities among agricultural stakeholders, with strong support from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. It seeks to promote sustainable crop production, educate farmers on good agricultural practices, ensure the availability of crucial resources throughout the agricultural value chain, and facilitate connections between input dealers or service providers and farmers.
Participating agrochemical companies will benefit from opportunities such as brand awareness building, product launches, increased sales, buyer education, and product demonstrations during the three-day event. Exceptional actors within the agro-input industry will also be recognized and awarded for their contributions to agricultural development.
Additionally, farmers and agripreneurs will have opportunities to exhibit their products, engage in business-to-business meetings, attend award ceremonies and presentations, and connect with input dealers or service providers. The 7th edition of the Agricultural Student Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp is scheduled to take place from May 20th to May 24th, 2024, at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Conference Hall (GNAT Hall) in Accra.
To be held Under the theme “Accelerating Our Efforts in Enabling and Advancing Career Opportunities for Agri-Youth: Role of Public, Private, and Development Partners,” this year’s bootcamp is poised to ignite a transformative journey for young Agri-enthusiasts across Ghana.
Organized by Agrihouse Foundation, the Annual Agricultural Student Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp has consistently served as a beacon of hope and opportunity for budding agricultural talents.
Notably, the 6th edition witnessed the remarkable success story of Charlotte Yawa Sodzedo, a participant from Adidome Farm Institute, who received substantial technical and financial backing through the Agromonti Ultimate Prize Pitch, valued at Seventy-Five thousand Ghana cedis (75,000 GHC). With the help of Agrihouse and Agromonti, she received an ultramodern input dealer shop in Adidome. Additionally, Grace Idani of Central University and Angela Afia Pokuaa of the University of Cape Coast both won cash prizes from the Nanam Ventures Ultimate Prize Pitch.
Past beneficiaries have witnessed remarkable achievements and initiated impactful initiatives through the Agricultural Student Career Guidance and Mentorship Dialogue Bootcamp.
