Yendi Queen Mother praises Agrihouse Foundation’s Gathering of the Royals Initiative

The Queen Mother of Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana, Taayilli Akalifa Seidu Azara has praised Agrihouse Foundation’s flagship programme, Gathering of the Royals, describing it as a powerful initiative driving sustainable food production, improving livelihoods, and creating dignified agricultural jobs across communities through its Royal Agribooster programme.

Sharing her experience, she noted that the programme serves as both a learning platform and a confidence booster for participants.

According to her, it continues to highlight the vital role of women farmers and traditional leaders in promoting sustainable agriculture and ensuring food security.

She used the opportunity to invite fellow Queen Mothers, particularly from Northern Ghana, to participate in the 8th edition of the Gathering of the Royals scheduled for March 31, 2026, at the GNAT Hall in Accra.

She expressed confidence that the event would help reshape their approach to farming, shifting from subsistence practices to more sustainable and impactful food production.

Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional Director of Agriculture, Madam Regatta Antwi Baah, expressed excitement about the growing involvement of Queen Mothers in agriculture. She commended them for taking the lead as catalysts for agricultural development and applauded Agrihouse Foundation for its continuous efforts.

The Executive Chair of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, highlighted several successes achieved through the initiative. She revealed that OCP has introduced a programme to support women farmers with soil testing before planting.

Additionally, input dealers are now reaching deeper into communities to educate farmers on crop nutrition and protection, leading to increased yields.

She further disclosed that under the Royal Agribooster programme, 100 young people venturing into poultry farming will receive support with day-old chicks.
