About The Gathering of the Royals (GoTR)
The Gathering of the Royals (GoTR) is Agrihouse Foundations’ Peace-building, Community Support Agricultural and Resilience Development Dialogue, for Queen mothers, Royals and stakeholders within the nation’s Agricultural value chain.
The GoTR brings together about Fifty (50) queen-mothers, from the 16 regions of Ghana, together with representatives from Academia, Government, and Development agencies, to openly discuss and explore the opportunities, challenges and compromises in Peace Royal building, resilience development that contribute to building the nation’s sustainable farmers.
The maiden edition of ‘Gathering of the Royals’ as a standalone event was held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the GNAT Conference Hall, in Accra. Prior to this it had been held alongside the WOFAGRIC and Gold in the Soil Awards since 2019
Objectives of Gathering of the Royals
- To bring together traditional leaders especially Queen mothers in an experts’- thought sharing and solution-oriented event that will give them the platform to elaborate on Agricultural development projects and initiatives they are championing in their various clans and districts.
- To explore avenues to optimize Agricultural interventions, to ensure local conflicts do not derail the development process that can foster sustainable growth and development.
- To get the Traditional leaders, Royals and opinion leaders to dialogue on Peace and sustainability related matters, that can positively influence Agricultural growth, enhance livelihoods and contribute to food security within their respective communities
- To scale up its efforts, for Traditional leaders to work with governments, businesses, development partners, academia and civil society to galvanize the sound policies, actions and leadership that will enable the transformations required to create inclusive, resilient and sustainable agriculture and food systems that deliver for people, planet and prosperity.
- At creating an atmosphere for a productive and healthy conversation, among traditional leaders, selected parliamentarians, development partners and the corporative institutions, on strategic areas to partner, for high impact and provide practical, realistic and achievable solutions for Peace and Agri-development
- To foster relations as well as create a platform for the sharing of business knowledge, experiences and innovative ideas on how to continue to build resilience and sustainability in the agricultural sector, especially on projects aligning with the growth, agricultural sustainability and development of their communities.
- To provide a common platform where traditional leaders discuss challenges confronting the agribusiness community in their localities and call for long-term partnerships; both government and private sector support to address amplified concerns.
- To share with Stakeholders, the Agrihouse Foundation, interventional projects calendar and seek for partnerships and collaboration
