Mr. Michael Tetteh Kwetey has over two decades of experience in business development, growth and entrepreneurship. As an astute businessman and entrepreneur, Mr. Kwetey has brought his rich experience to the benefit of multiple companies in various capacities such as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Board Chairman or Board Member. He is currently the Director and CEO of Kwat Company Limited, a successful haulage company in the
petrochemical industry of the downstream sub-sector of the energy sector. Michael doubles as the CEO of Generis Logistics Limited and responsible for leveraging the assets, including the human resource, of these companies to realise their objectives.
Over the years, Mr. Kwetey has played several strategic and significant roles leading to the success story of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) today. He has supported the NDC with both financial and logistical assistance across the length and breadth of the country – adopting regions, constituencies, and parliamentary candidates producing over 50 NDC MPs in Ghana’s 9th Parliament. Michael has been a key member of the Business Development Committee and the Energy Committee of the NDC and the 2024 Manifesto Committee. Mr. Kwetey has received several testimonials, awards and certificates in commendation of his work and support to the
NDC.
Mr. Kwetey possesses a strong academic background, holding a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy Law from the University of Ghana, a Master of Administration in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University, a Master of Arts in Development Communication from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Central University, and a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). His multidisciplinary education equips him with expertise in law, business management, communication, entrepreneurship, and energy governance.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Kwetey is deeply committed to community development and social impact. He has spearheaded and supported numerous initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods, strengthening public institutions, enhancing healthcare delivery, creating employment opportunities, supporting fisherfolk, expanding access to potable water, and empowering women and young people through entrepreneurship and financial assistance. His passion for sustainable development reflects his belief that strong communities are built through strategic investment, opportunity creation, and inclusive leadership.
Mr. Kwetey brings strategic leadership, corporate governance expertise, business development experience, and a proven commitment to community empowerment. His experience in entrepreneurship, logistics, infrastructure development, and resource mobilization strengthens the Foundation’s efforts to advance sustainable agriculture, agribusiness development, youth employment, and inclusive economic growth across Ghana.
