Ms. Leilani Rawlings Kennedy is an emerging entrepreneur, youth advocate, and aspiring agricultural development professional with a strong passion for promoting Ghana-made products, sustainable agriculture, and value-driven economic growth. She is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen Ghana’s agricultural sector through innovation, value addition, and market development, with a particular focus on empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in International Land and Water Management at Wageningen University & Research, one of the world’s leading institutions in agricultural sciences and sustainability studies, Leilani is developing expertise in agricultural systems, land and water resource management, and sustainable food production. Her academic training provides her with a strong foundation in understanding the opportunities and challenges facing modern agriculture, particularly within developing economies.
As an entrepreneur building a young venture focused on promoting and adding value to Ghana-made products, Leilani is driven by the conviction that Ghana’s agricultural potential can be unlocked across the entire value chain—from production and storage to processing, branding, and market access. She believes that creating competitive, high-quality Ghanaian products is essential for strengthening local industries, reducing imports, creating jobs, and expanding export opportunities.
Her vision is centered on three key areas. First, she is passionate about regenerative farming practices that improve soil health, enhance environmental sustainability, and support long-term agricultural productivity. Second, she advocates for innovative solutions that reduce post-harvest losses, recognizing that improving storage, handling, and preservation systems remains one of the most impactful ways to increase food security and farmer incomes. Third, she champions value addition and agro-processing, believing that transforming raw agricultural produce into high-quality Ghana-made products is critical to building a resilient and globally competitive agricultural economy.
Having lived and studied in both Ghana and Europe, Leilani brings a unique international perspective to agriculture, entrepreneurship, and development. Her exposure to diverse cultures, markets, and agricultural systems enables her to identify opportunities for innovation and supports her vision of positioning Ghanaian agribusinesses to successfully penetrate regional and global markets.
